Howard Devoto (born Howard Trafford) began his career as frontman first to the Buzzcocks and later Magazine then left both to form a post punk band in 1986.  The new band Luxuria was signed to Beggars Banquet in 1987 and consisted of Howard Devoto on vocals, Norman Fisher-Jones (Noko) on guitars & viola, James Gardner on keyboards, Karl Leiker on bass & guitar and Mark Rowlett on drums.  They released a total of two albums and a few singles.  Their last release was in 1990.  
  
The record featured today is a 12” single called Redneck and on the reverse side is a cover of Bob Dylan’s ‘She’s Your Lover Now’.  The sleeve is a cardboard cover and heavily embossed .  The embossing reads ‘Red Neck’ in a very stylistic font.
