After the suicide of Ian Curtis, front man of Joy Division, the remaining band members, guitarist, Bernard Sumner, Peter Hook (bass) and drummer Stephen Morris got together in and formed a new band called New Order. Experimenting with new wave and dance music they were everyone’s favorite band of the 80’s. It sure was mine for I collected pretty much every thing they released or at least tried to.
The best was seeing them live at Paradise Garage in ‘Mad’hattan in the late 80’s. The Paradise Garage was a strictly gay club and I don't really know why but just for this one night they opened it up for us hetro folk and boy, was it an eye opener. Floor to ceiling and wall to wall speakers, tweeters and sub woofers. In the next room they were showing Mad Max and from the roof top garden a slide show was being projected on to adjacent buildings. It was an eye opener on how to party.
