In 1977 in Bologna, Italy, a few guys called Billy Blade aka Alessandro Raffini on vocals and sax, Bat Matic aka Marco Dondini on drums, Andy  Nevada aka Giorgio Lavagna on vocal and synth, Marco Bongiovanni aka Chainsaw Sally on bass and Robert Squibb aka Ciro Pagano on guitar got together and formed a band.  They called it Gaznevada taken from the Raymond Chandler novel "Nevada gas".  Heavily influenced by the Ramones, Velvet Underground, Talking Heads and Brian Eno, their sound was a mix of new wave and punk rock. They played to live crowds in dance clubs and soon developed a cult following.  By 1982-83 they wrote a song which completely changed the sound of the band. It was called ‘I.C.Love  Affair’. From then on they veered towards synth-pop, dance and electronica.  They produced 7-8 studio albums and a number of singles and EPs.  The last one in 2003 called Gaznevada.

I picked this record cover as the freaky cover of the day. It was designed by Anna Persiani of Showbiz Arts & Graphics and photographed by Gaznevada Diffusion.  Unfortunately, that’s all the info I have on the cover art.
